Skulls in a Row #36

Ring 36 out of 365. I was flipping through a japanese magazine earlier this week when I was inspired to do this ring. Can't remember exactly what i was looking at but I sketched out a ring band in my sketchbook (I carry it every where)with a circle in the center labeled cut-out design so I would remember the idea.

I knew I wanted to do a skull and started sketching out ideas thinking how am I going to convey this while keeping the band intact. Then it hit me that I just needed to think about carving jack-o-lanterns, which is one of my other favorite things to do!

I'm still having trouble getting things sized right and got this one stuck on my finger twice!

ring a Day #35

An old Amuck postcard turns into jewelry itself, not too bad! Help me out, if you know your ring size let me know. I want to start making some of my ring a day designs to sell and would like to know what the most popular sizes are. I'm thinking that 6,7,8,&9 would be good sizes to keep in stock.

Ring a Day #34

Tonight's ring is made from a brass curtain ring that has been covered with metal electrical tape(i love that stuff!). I then painted it and roughed it up with some sandpaper. The texture is so cool.

City bird goes mini

I can't believe I actually pulled this one off,he's so tiny!! I can see this guy showing up in all kinds of pieces, like swinging on some hoop earrings?

Materials used are: stop sign, license plate and sterling. The ring shank was soldered but everything else is put together with sterling wire and tube rivets.

month 2- ring a day

wow! one month down on the ring a day challenge,it went by quickly. Tonight's was a quicky made with tissue paper and cardstock. Monday is my one evening to just sit and watch tv and I also needed to wrap up all the pieces that im shipping out.

Silver prices dropped a bit last week so I bought a small amount. Can't wait to get my order and start on the ring that i made a mockup of yesterday.

Among my plans for this week is to make a piece for the Etsy Metal weekly challenge, which is to choose artwork from The Met and design your own piece inspired by it. Im thinking I will do a brooch inspired by Joseph Cornell's collages.
