I went into the studio tonight and came up with one idea and worked on it for a bit then decided I didnt like it and came up with another idea. The first idea however is turning into a lovely pair of earrings. I can't wait to finish these now!
A new one to go in the Urban Victoriana grouping. I got some serrated bezel wire last week and thought that would be a nice addition with this look. Once again I had no idea what I was going to make until I sat at the bench and flipped through some scraps. I've got some ideas for rings but they are more elaborate than I can do in an evening after work. I'm kinda thinking it may be time to mess around with a different medium for awhile, like clay.
I've been thinking about those plastic bottle flowers again that Anthropologie had in their windows. I'm slowly saving my bottles at work so that I can make a curtain of them for my kitchen window. Also, today while outside after lunch I heard a little boy telling his mom that April showers bring May flowers. So, with flowers on the brain I came up with this ring. Also, I didn't really feel like starting up the torch and the pickle pot so it had to be made with a cold connection, tube rivets being my favorite method.
I went down to my bench after work today to make #91 and just sat there staring at the scraps covering the surface. What the heck was I going to make today? I have to say it's getting a little tricky coming up with a new idea everyday, and we're only on 91 out of 365!! So, I'm picking up every piece on the bench and looking at it waiting for that spark that says I'm the one! Well, I've had this red key on my bench for months and when I looked at it and said the words key ring, that was all it took. Half the battle was done, but now that it was formed and had a small gap to complete the circle I was back to picking up whatever lay on the bench. These two pearl like beads were the choice and they ended up fitting in the space perfectly.
