Etsy Metal Blog carnival

                  This month's topic is:

"Art That inspires us outside of jewelry"

Awhile back I looked up at my inspiration board and realized that I am really inspired by artists working with paper, I was a bit shocked at how many items I adored were paper. My second love appeared to be plushies and toys. Its hard to hold myself back from purchasing doll after doll or tiny little artist designed munnies. Here are just a few pics of some of my favs, including some illustrations that just get my mind ticking.

Just pulling these pics has me excited to get home and grab some paperclay and play!

Paper mache sculptures from Adam Frezza and Terri Chiao

This weekend

This weekend i finished this ankh necklace for my friend Carol. I did some extra texturing on the edge that I think looks really great. Carol does some amazing ceramics, mostly black and white work dealing with saints and milagros. I own several of these and don't see my collecting of them slowing down at all.

Here is another friend of mine Tammy with her new Citybird necklace. You can see this in progress a couple of posts back. If you haven't been to her site Homemade Circus yet hop on over you will be delighted!

This is my newest piece from her, the Trapeze artist. Isn't she beautiful! I'm trying to think ahead as I plan where to hang her because I know that I am going to add to this when she comes out with the other circus folk.

I also worked on the guitar a bit more. This will be done by this weekend,Yay! Everywhere that you see a drilled hole will be a sterling solid wire rivet which is what will connect all layers of this piece together.

Bryan's art

Not too long ago Bryan (my husband & co-owner of AMUCK) had the opportunity to take a mosaic workshop at work. He made this very industrial looking frame, I LOVE it. His talent just never ceases to amaze me!

I definitely think he should do some more mosaics, don't you?

I really like these little cogs in the corner. I would also like to announce that Bryan will be doing some blogging himself right here! He just recently started a Twitter account and is very entertaining on that form so Im sure we will be seeing some funny and interesting blog posts here. Stay tuned.....
