Lattes and Lights

I can't believe I haven't posted for a week! Time sure flew by. Well, the lights are on at the Plaza once again. Since we were out of town yesterday we didn't get to be on the Plaza when they were turned on so we went down tonight after dinner and had a tea, and people watched.

Our friend Dick Daniels has a show up at Latteland(on the Plaza- next to Anthropologie) through December. We LOVE his stuff, can't decide which piece I want to get. If you are in Kansas City please come down and check it out and if not check out his site Funhouse 57.

What a Fabulous Hat

Here's a sneak peek at what will be in our Christmas display windows. I made this cute little hat today at work, I'd like one for myself! We are winding down on getting the store set up for Christmas, think it will take all of December to pick up our work shop and put things back in order. It will be nice to slow down for a bit and just clean.

Table of Sweets

The candy table went up today, this year with a nutcracker theme. It was a treat for the eyes and the nose, and my tastebuds got to sample a few pieces as well!

Glittering Balls

It has been such a busy week. We are in the middle of Christmas set up at the store and Bryan and I have another craft sale for the next two weekends that starts tomorrow. We dropped our items off and set them up this evening. I've been working on these huge ball ornaments for over a week now, unfortunately I deleted the before pics that I had taken. It's been a slow process glittering these things but the end is drawing near. I had a big set back early in the week when I took the green ball outside to spray seal it. I didn't think before hand about the cooler air outside and the warmer air within the ball, so when I went out it shrank and these huge cracks starting appearing all over the surface! For a moment I thought the thing might explode, so I grabbed it and went back in just to stare at it and figure out how to fix this mess. After a while it swelled back up and didn't look as bad but now I had this layer of air between the glued glitter and the balls' surface. Amazingly I have gotten all the pieces glued back and concealed, we just need to be very careful when hanging it. These giants are going to be suspended over the entrance to the store, should make a nice impact.

Next door at Hallmark they are getting set up for christmas as well.

Cool Stuff

The Cool Stuff show was lots of fun this year. I traded an apron for one of Natalie's cute little ceramic snowman buckets. Here is a small sampling of the great items that were at this years' show.

A look into the sewing room

Here's a peek into my sewing room which inhabits the dining room that is almost never dined in! I've been getting ready for two shows that I'm participating in this month. The first one starts tomorrow evening, dropped off a bunch of aprons and potholders tonight after work and got my table and display set up. I've never had so many potholders made at one time. I made it through a third of the stack in the photo and will finish those remaining this weekend for the next show.

I was hoping to share with you some of the christmas decorations I've been making for the entrance to the store where I work but left my camera there tonight. We've been glittering GIANT ball ornaments that will be suspended over the entrance, they are looking pretty cool so far. The only draw back is that I've managed to eat some glitter along the way, that stuff sure gets everywhere!
